Stardew Valley Splitscreen Co-op Review! OUR BIGGEST ADDICTION!

You can watch our review here!

One of the only games that has managed to stop productivity in our home, Stardew Valley, is an absolute must for anybody seeking a relaxing, yet engaging, time that passes seemingly without notice. We have honestly played this game for entire days without any desire to stop. Stardew Valley offers an insane amount of value for its low price. We have yet to tire of the game and hope that you will enjoy it as well. In January 2021 the game received a massive update that added split screen functionality, and for us this is the Real MVP.

While I tend to get bored of playing an endless sandbox on my own; the opportunity to play on the couch with my wife is a no brainer. We have spent countless hours working together to grow our farm and complete all the quests. From caving to fishing, it is all more enjoyable together. When playing Stardew Valley in co-op, you are able to complete tasks far faster, and get far more done than if you were to play the game alone. Whether you want to farm, fish, fight monsters, go caving, romance the townsfolk, craft, or some of everything this game is an excellent place to spend your time. It offers 2-4 player split screen or online co-op.

At its core, Stardew Valley is a farming life simulator with an incredible mix of RPG elements. For the most part the game allows you to do whatever you want, while also presenting you with an endless amount of possibilities. Some of the most fundamental pieces of the game include things such as maintaining your energy meter to avoid getting too tired and fainting, and increasing inventory space. There is nothing more frustrating than having an immense amount of things to carry around, but a lack of space. So, buy those backpacks quickly.

You also have the opportunity to level up skills. This comes throughout the game. As you do more of certain things, your skill in those areas will increase and you will become better at certain tasks. This also helps you unlock new needed crafting recipes.

As the seasons change they bring with them new challenges and different opportunities in regard to how you care for your crops and animals. You need to keep your eyes peeled for the change of the season as your crops will wilt if it is not their season.

You’re welcome to spend your time foraging around the map to find natural resources, spend days on end fishing for that special type of fish, or spelunk your way to the bottom of the massive and incredibly dangerous cave, all the while collecting that precious ore to upgrade your tools. With so many things to do you might think that is everything, but there is also an immense amount of custmobility in the game, from how your character looks, what type of pet you have, and even the maps that you can play on.

While Stardew Valley is a robust game with so much to do, the game itself is not what kept us coming back day after day. We came back everyday because we loved playing it together. There is no better feeling than working together on the farm, or delegating tasks to accomplish more in a day. I just wish we felt this way about taking care of our real house.

It is available on Nintendo Switch, Playstation, Xbox and PC.
