More Games Like Overcooked You Need To Play!

Watch the video here:

We constantly hear people talking about overcooked, whether they are dissing it or talking about how good of a co-op game it is. Regardless the game spawned a myriad of similar cooperative-style games and after a little digging, we have ten more games like overcooked!

Manic mechanics:

Manic mechanics is a stand out on this list we had an absolutely fantastic time playing as repair shop mechanics! If there was one thing that set this game apart from the rest it was how different each action really felt. It was not just, mashing the A button until your tomato is chopped instead you would have to swipe your joystick back and forth to simulate painting a car door, or time your button presses to stay within the green line as you repair an engine. This simple addition made the game so much more engaging than a lot of the competition!

Aside from that the game always continued to introduce new mechanics throughout that fit with whatever area you found yourself in, from ufos to submarines and electrocuted flooring. Oh, yeah, and the overworld map lets each of you drive around in your own car which was another nice little addition!

Ship of fools:

While Ship of Fools is probably the least like overcooked in style and goals this charming rogue-lite definitely had a little bit of that hectic cooperative feeling to it! This game supports only two players and sends you on a doomed mission out to sea, where you will need to brave the apocalypse! This inevitably means you will be firing your cannons at pesky enemies, and wacking pesky ship invaders with your oar!

While the game is without a doubt a rogue-lite featuring a ton of skill to increase as you inevitably fail mission after mission, it also gave us much more cooperative gameplay than any other rogue-lite we have played. Since your mission is not really to defeat enemies, but instead to defend your ship there is a lot more working together than simply bashing enemies on your own. We constantly found ourselves in a flow of helping each other out. Loading each other's cannons, bashing boarding enemies away, and making sure to repair the boat floor whenever it took damage. If the calm of simply working on fixing things is not quite enough and you need the thrill of battle to boost your spirit then this is a fantastic option!

Fueled up:

There is honestly no way to explain fueled up other than overcooked in space. Okay, yeah you won't be cooking food but if you can imagine putting batteries into the engine as dropping tomatoes in a pot, and making sure the doors don't lose power and open as keeping the dishes clean, then there is not much of a difference. This again provides more of an intense experience than cooking while keeping all of the basic game mechanics.

You'll have to throw meteors in the grinder before they explode and repair any damage in the ship's whole to prevent any accidents! Not to mention all of the doors you will have to open for one another and that one giant squid thing that latched onto the ship. He was just as scared as we were!

Speed crew:

Similarly to Manic Mechanics speed crew has you working to repair vehicles. Except for this time, you are working as the pit crew to defeat Dominic Tereto… Sorry I mean Dominion Torento or whatever they call him! This of course will have you doing your best to quickly repair the car issues, whether it's replacing the tires, or pounding the body with a hammer until its shape looks more desirable.

This game has nowhere near the charm and cutesy art style present in manic mechanics, but if your style is a little more serious and devoid of UFOs abducting you then this is a good backup option, or additional option I guess! Just be careful as these vehicles came speeding off the racetrack and we lost a couple of good men who were standing in the wrong place at the wrong time!

D-corp:

D-corp is an absolutely fantastic cooperative tower defense game, but similar to how Ship of Fools saw us working together a lot d-corp is just about impossible without working together as best you can! You will be setting up all your defenses to fight off spider foes and then working together to make sure the stupid bug stays out of the grinder and all of your precious purple crystals make it in.

Moving out 2:

From the developers of overcooked, we have moving out 2! This game takes the same co-op-centered focus of overcooked and puts it into packing up houses. You will have to work together to load up the moving truck as fast as you possibly can, nothing really matters, break windows, and throw items from the second floor. As long as you get it all out of the building and into the truck as fast as possible you are on the right track.

You will have to work together to carry heavy items like fridges and couches out the door. You will definitely need to learn the art of pivoting! You will start to work your way through increasingly complex houses, each with its own wonky obstacles to overcome. Start with a simple door that automatically shuts behind you and moves to spinning rooms and moving bars to block your path!

Super crazy rhythm castle:

This one is probably the least like overcooked but it still gives me that same feeling. Super crazy rhythm castle is a rhythm-based game but with some random things thrown in there. Instead of just playing the game like any other and smashing the buttons at the right time to colored chords. You will constantly be interrupted by all sorts of different obstacles. One needs to fling vegetables into a portal and reload beans onto the fire.

While another level will have you collecting gems and delivering them to crazy monsters in order to keep them calm. You do all of these activities while also trying to play the proper notes to wonky music. It’s honestly pretty wild, and it's a ton of fun. Though admittedly I am not good enough at rhythm games to hack it at this one for long.

Let’s Cook Together:

If you want to get back into the spirit of cooking then let’s cook together is a fantastic option! Unlike the rest of these games, this one only supports 2 players. It places you on a cooking show where you will have to work together to serve customers just like overcooked. The basic goal of this game is very similar to that of overcooked. You get increasingly complex cooking recipes and the kitchen continues to add more items for you to master.

One of the more unique things about this one is that it gives the option to choose your difficulty so you won’t have to rage about the game being too difficult. Perhaps the biggest difference between this and overcooked is that you are separated from your partner the entire time and will have to toss tomatoes and potatoes to each other to complete your recipes.

Plate Up:

Plateup is a very interesting twist on kitchen management. No longer is your goal simply to cook the best food as fast as possible for your customers. In this roguelike game, You will need to manage the entire restaurant, which means picking out the dishes, setting up the appliances, and even decorating the wallpaper. You will get the opportunity to upgrad and rearrange your restaurant every night to best suit your needs and in the day time get to cooking and serving your customers as best you can!

You can even start chaining your new appliances together to automate the cooking process of specific items. Wash dishes, clean up messes, put out fires, and serve your customers yourself. There is a ton to do in this quirky little game, and every 15 days you get to start a new franchise and do it all over again!

Witchtastic:

Witchtastic unlocks the spooky side of this genre as you brew up special potions as fast as you can! There are some pretty interesting ingredients you will need to collect from rat tales you gather as a cat to ghosts you need to trap in a bottle. While you are at it though you will need to keep the fire stocked to properly brew your potions.

You will learn how to combine all of the wild ingredients together to master each new recipe and send them on their way. Enjoy customizing your character and zipping around levels on your broom! Don't forget to fight off the monsters and wolves who have it out for you along the way! Overall I hope you have an enchanting time progressing through level after level, moving from haunted forests to swamps, cities, and snowy ruins!
